My big girl

No more Kindergarten! Ever!

This is something I have never said before, and could not imagine ever saying. I have always had a little one waiting in the wings to start school as the other big kids moved on. Not anymore. My youngest has blown through Kindergarten like a bat out of hell and is ready to take on the world.

Me, on the other hand, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I could not wait until all of my kids were in school. Finally! I have had little feet following me around for twenty years. Now I will be able to think in peace, I thought. Now I will be able to go to the bathroom with the door shut, I dreamed. Eat lunch without getting up to clean up the spilled drink, how heavenly!

Not so much.

I miss that face following me around the house all day begging to help roll fold the laundry and break wash the dishes. But I am so proud of her and all of my kids for an amazing school year. As hard as it is to see them growing up, it is just as amazing to watch the beautiful people they are becoming.

**I may have to revisit and update this post in a couple of weeks after we have all been home together for the Summer and we all want to kill each other.**
