PASS Card from American Express

Trying to teach teenagers about money is about as much fun as eating glass, but we all have to do it. PASS from American Express is making it a little easier to learn about financial responsibility. I wish I had something like this when my oldest daughter was a teenager. She learned the hard way about over draft charges and high bank fees. The PASS card could have saved her (me) a lot of headaches.

Now that Chelsea is sixteen I figured this would be perfect for her. I went online and signed up. It could not have been any easier. Everything you need to know is all right there, and very easy to read and understand. One of my favorite features about this prepaid card that we can go online and track spending like a bank account. Chelsea can see what she has spent and what she has on her card at any time, and so can I. I think this a great tool to use while trying to teach your kids about money and spending. I know from experience that it is all too easy to whip out the debit card and not think about it. My daughter Caitlin learned that even being short a couple of dollars in your account can add up to owing huge bank fees.

Want to give the PASS card a try? Now is the BEST time! When you sign up and load your card with $25.00 American Express will give you $25.00 on top of that when you use code SS25!  It is so simple.  Just go to americanexpress.com/pass follow the steps and wait for your welcome kit to arrive in the mail.  Don’t forget to use the SS25 code and get $25.00 in FREE money!

The SS25 code expires April 15, 2011.

I was compensated for my time on this post through She Speaks.  All opinions are my own.
